Urwy's Progress

This topic is reserved for updates on my textures. Models are mainly supplied by AnonDraco, But other sources won't be excluded.
Any suggestions for improvements on the textues are welcome, and should be posted in Red.
Non-team members are allowed to suggest models for texturing, and should do so by stating the type of weapon in cyan and including a download link to the model (preferably a .Blend or .Obj file.)
However, the choice to take up on those suggestions still remains mine to make.

aww s***, i noticed strange bug when i was re-working the axe, some faces are transparent in texture mode. I immediately checked and noticed that dagger and elven sword had same bugs. It's only few faces and fixing is simple: just delete the transparent faces and then create new ones. Transparency may cause some problems to you. I can fix those models and re-upload them, or you can see what happens and fix them on you own, but then you need to do the hi-poly details too.
Sorry, from now on i'll check them in texure mode and not just in solid.

Congratulations I think Zar'rok is nearly perfect now. All we need is a few shinier textures

What if i say that i think i can do better than that? Because that was the very first sword i did. But i'll have to do some of Anondraco's other models first, as i don't want to fall too far behind.

Found one rather nice option:

Níðhöggr - A dragon fron norse mythology. It's name translates to "Malice striker".
Found this to be rather appropriate for this blade

More options:

Ancient language - English translation

Orúm Reona - Serpent reaper
Shur Reona - Dragon reaper
Orúm freohr - Serpent Death
Shur freohr - Dragon Death
Orúm Dauth - Serpent Death
Shur Dauth - Dragon Death

Those are nice names but Shur doesnt mean Dragon in the Ancient Language. The name for dragon is "Skulblaka".

Awe It came from "Shur'tugal" Dragonrider. So i thought shur meant dragon and tugal meant rider
I'll just stick with Níðhöggr as that was the only name i got right

But believe me when i say that the Scimitar looks so much more satisfying close up

Scimitars wooden handle is bit.. too wooden. It looks like dried stick
Can you make it darker or something?

Nevertheless, great work, you really bring those models to life.

Those are so sick. I feel outclassed by a mile.

Update!
Added the Captains sword.

Just look how far we have come from zar'rock.
and Zar'rcok has double the vertexes of captains sword! (needs a name, those are just project names i use with them.)

And that's just ± 1 week into the mod. Should be great a few more weeks from now, image a few months!

Yeah, I thought (this being my first mod i've worked on) i thought it would be atleast another 2 weeks to get as far as we have already.

Just need to let it be known somehere:

I bloody messed up my main texture file for the epic blade!
Meaning i gotta do it all over from scratch if i want to adjust colortone.. Arg!

Edit:
The good news is that i've figured the bloodsplatters on the blades out.
Will start adding them to the weapons sometime today, then i'll give my own modelling skills a go Got some weapon designs i'd like to try.

Some suggestions and opinions
I prefer Zar'roc V1's blade - but loose the black line have that bit like V2
If its possible Bronzeband should have the same texture blade as zar'roc V1 but a bronze colour (If its to be a riders sword)
Elven Scimitar - Less scratches, Elves would keep their blades in tip-top condition
My favourite so-far is Draco's Bane

Will have more after looking at the blades in more detail...
Draco's bane should be an Easter egg quest having to fight Anon-Draco in a crypt...
