Dunno about what the other think but I like those plates.

I've always been a fan of the plates Draco, but I think the plates around the chest are looking a bit too narrow, if you widened them a bit across his front so they reach nearer the armpits I think it'd look more natural. The armpits are supposed to be unarmoured though as if I remember right they are one of a Dragon's weak spots.
As it is atm I adore the dragon, it's looking beautiful AND deadly and the teeth, horns and head are really looking ferocious. But I'd like to request a few more screenshots from different angles on the next update, because personally I think it's nearing completion and it'll be harder to spot the finer detail with only one or two angles of vision.

Eye area, back of the skull and interior of the mouth. Those need most attention.

the top and bottom of the head need to merge more. theres a very noticeable seam between them

yes i know. they are currently separated since it allows better detail.

I'd advise that before you 'sew' up that previously pointed out noticeable top-bottom-face seam, that you keep in mind: A Dragon can and frequently does dislocate it's bottom jaw; almost like a snake does, to swallow prey whole. In case it makes an eating/ snatching up a soldier animation easier later on.

So, my exams are over. unfortunately now i have practical training incoming, so i'll be doing normal work days. good news is that i can get back to the project, but not as intensely as i was before.
anyways, you can start expecting new updates every now and then, when i get inspiration and have the energy.

also do we have a new texturer in team? i need a goddamn texturer. want to get back to weapon modeling.

And a good thing: I found a way to transfer shades of darkness from your normalmap onto my texture. Which means i might fianlly be able to finish that damned hilt Zarroc 2.0 has

Urwy: just use what's good, golden dragons work just fine. i sent the reference pic with that rar (and blazing gave link too), that's the result i was aimin to, but use what works best.

draco you need to record a session of your modeling so i can see how you make them look so bloody amazing and hopefully get some pointers on it.

subdivision surface and mirror modifiers. loop cutting and extruding. some parts were made with "advanced" curves. (tapering and beveling the base curve)

you can ask me all you want in irc, i'll be happy to teach.

but yeah, i could try some recording.
